Chicken Coop Plans – Building a Chicken Coop
This product includes plans for three different coops. The smallest is a portable A-frame coop appropriate for a few chickens. One advantage to this design is that with its open floor; this version of a “chicken tractor” can be relocated frequently provide a rich source of fertilizer for your yard. Obviously these work best in yards that are flat.

The medium-sized coop is a stationary design suitable for 3-6 chickens. The nesting boxes are accessible from outside the run, making it easy to retrieve eggs. Should you decide to lock your chickens inside the coop at night, you will have to enter the run area. Plans for the attached run are also included.

Finally, the largest coop design features a larger structure with a ground-level floor and an enclosed yard surrounding the house.

These plans are an excellent choice for the beginner DIY’er as the plans are very complete and include many illustrations to aid in the construction.

Also included are bonus manuals on how to find the cheapest materials, how to position your coop, best coop floor options, and how to build nesting boxes for free. The price for these plans is $29.95. Should you wish to visit the sales page and review more details, please click here.
Chicken Coop Guide
This is one of our favorite chicken coop building guide because of the level of after sale support offered. They were very responsive to a couple of question I had, and seem to take customer service very seriously. Similar to other products, plans for 3 sizes of coops are included. The smallest design is for a portable chicken coop, suitable for 4-7 chickens. The mid-size coop is said to accommodate 8-12 chickens, while the largest one is able to handle 16-24 chickens.
Frankly I think these estimates are a bit inflated, but there has always been differences in opinion about required square feet per chicken (i like to use 4 sq. ft./chicken).
